There's no single right answer — it depends on group size, how often you run sessions, and how you want learners to rotate through a scenario. That said, a few practical patterns make the decision easier.
Start from how you'll run a session
Most training providers use one of two patterns:
- Rotation — a small number of headsets, with learners taking turns while the rest of the group does something else (discussion, a related practical exercise, observing on a cast display). This works well for a first purchase, since it keeps cost down while still letting everyone take part.
- Parallel — enough headsets that most or all of a group can run a scenario at the same time, which suits larger cohorts or tighter session schedules where rotation would take too long.
Matching headsets to our package tiers
Our packages are built around this exact question:
| Package | Headsets | Good starting point for |
|---|---|---|
| Solo | 2 | A single trainer or small course, rotating learners through |
| Duos | 4 | Small-group rotation, or pairs working through a scenario together |
| Team | 6 | Regular group sessions with a busier training schedule |
| Team Plus | 8 | Larger cohorts or multiple concurrent groups |
| Business | 10 | Running VR training at scale across an organisation |
It's easy to start small and grow
Many training providers start with a Solo or Duos package to prove out the format with real learners, then move up a tier as demand increases. See our packages page for full details, or request a quote and we'll help you size a fleet to your actual session schedule.
